January Meetings start on Monday 10th
Dear moms,
The parish will be closed the next two Mondays, December 27th and January 3rd. So our next playdate will take place on Monday 10th. We can’t wait to get together!
Our group is getting better every week. More moms are coming on a regular basis so we’re becoming friends.
The kids are getting to know each other! and play/fight/share/bond together!

Thanksgiving with our babies
Last week we had a great time doing some arts and crafts for Thanksgiving. I must admit that us moms had way more fun than our little ones. It was a great excuse to talk, laugh, share, complain and pray together.
Halloween Parade was amazing!
Today our little giraffe, space ranger, gladiator, Princess and goblin and puppy gave us a treat by parading the hallways of St. Edward’s parish. Hope you enjoy the pictures. There is also a video on Facebook!

Feast of the Holy Rosary
The feast of the Holy Rosary was established by Saint Pius V on the anniversary of the naval victory won by the Christian fleet at Lepanto, October 7, 1571. The victory was attributed to the help of the holy Mother of God whose aid was invoked through praying the Rosary.
The celebration of this day invites all to mediate upon the mysteries of Christ, following the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary who was so singularly associated with the incarnation, passion and glorious resurrection of the Son of God. From the Christian Prayer(Liturgy of the Hours)

Respect is important at every age!
Like most moms we want the very best for our kids. We look for play groups. We socialize at play ground
s and we teach kids to say please and thank you.
Love and hate is a learned behavior. We have to be the voice in their head that reminds them that they are special. The first years of their life kids are like little sponges. They absorb the world around them. They live to love but also see grown people fight and parents scold.
We must teach kids to respect and to love one another, no matter the differences. Let us also teach them to have gratitude towards their community, friends, themselves and god.
My dad use to say if you “Si no vi
ves para servir , no servis para vivir” (If you don’t live to serve, you don’t deserve to live). It sounds a bit more subtle in Spanish. The truth is that part of being a parent is teaching our kids not to be selfish and instilling in them the desire to help others. To me, their is no greater joy then seeing my children smile and laugh as long as they are laughing with kids and not at them.
As our kids get older and frustrate us, let’s refrain from putting them down. That too becomes a learned behavior, that they will repeat at school to their classmates.

Friday, September 24th Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport – Town of Queensbury & Downtown Glens Falls
* 5:00 pm: Balloon Launch of 60+ balloons including some special shape balloons
*
5:30pm – 9:30pm: The City of Glens Falls is partnering with the Adirondack Balloon Festival to kick off the weekend’s events. Glen Street will be closed off to make one big block party so folks can safely enjoy the downtown fun.
o 5:30pm-7:30pm: The Boothill Band perform classic country hits
o 7:30pm-9:30pm: One of the last chances to see Bobby Dick & The Sundowners rock Glen Street. Bring your dancing shoes.
o Over 50+ classic cars on display.
o Meet & greet balloonists who will be showing off their balloon baskets.
o Upstate Model Railroaders will have a model train set up on the sidewalk and then go downstairs to their headquarters where trains are running on hundreds of miles of tracks.
o Shops and restaurants will be open.
o Childrens’ activities from regional not-for-profits
o 9:30PM: FIREWORKS from Centennial Circle!

* 6:00am – 7:00pm: Civic organizations have food and beverages on site

* 2:00pm – 5:00pm DJ with music in the Entertainment Tent
* 4:00pm AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilot’s Association) Town Hall Meeting with Craig Fuller, President of AOPA
* 5:00pm Flight of 90+ balloons including special shapes
Sunday, September 26th Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport – Town of Queensbury

* 2:00pm – 5:00pm: Jonathan Newell Band performace
* 5:00pm: Flight of 15-20 balloons for people looking for a balloon flight at cost/person/ride

Harvest Festival!
Hi everyone,
This weekend there is a wonderful family event going on at the Riverview Orchard in Clifton Park. We hope to see you out there. It is free and looks like the little ones will be busy. The event kicks off Friday evening and concludes Sunday afternoon. Some of our moms will be there on Saturday.

Este fin de semana hay un evento fabuloso de familia, en Riverview Orchard en Clifton Park. Esperamos que puedan disfrutar de los eventos. Es gratis y parese que las actividades van a hacer muchas. El evento habre Viernes alas 6 y cierra Domingo por la tarde.

Sentada en mi ventana, viendo y escuchando lo lluvia caer, viene a mi memoria una canción muy hermosa y triste a la vez, compuesta por el artista Ali Primera, es una canción en protesta.

Cuanta gente en nuestros paises latinos y en muchos otros paises viven en condiciones de extrema pobreza, sin educacion, sin alimento, viviendo en casas de carton, sin poder elegir, sin ser recordados, sin ser pensados, y aun asi viven, y a duras penas con una sonrisa en sus labios. Son personas con corazones llenos de amor, dispuestos a dar lo que no tienen, trabajadores, con sueños y anhelos.
Hay muchas organizaciones que ayudan a estas familias, unamonos a ellas, seamos parte de la felicidad de ellos, enseñemos a nuestros hijos la Caridad, ese don tan especial, a que sean desprendidos y aprendan a dar sin medidas.
Unamonos en oracion por los mas necesitados, en especial por los niños, para que tengan un futuro mejor, para que no sean abusados, para que obtengan una buena educacion y sobre todo para que reciban siempre Amor, Amor puro y sincero que ellos como todos los seres humanos merecen.
Hay siempre una esperanza para aquellos en esa condicion, y es que Dios dice que de ellos es el Reino de los Cielos. Amemos a nuestros hermanos sin importar su condicion económica y estemos dispuestos siempre a ayudar.
En el amor de Dios.
